2001 Red Ribbon, Natural Malaysian Storage Quarter Cake
This is the same Red Ribbon 2001 commissioned tea that we offered earlier, but with a different storage history. This spent 5 years in Hong Kong and then 15 years naturally stored in Malaysia, resulting in a well-aged tea that is ready to drink, with a thick mouthfeel and a dense core. It is also developing a very nice resinous woody incense notes. [Correction Dec 2022: the collector has confirmed that both versions were stored in Hong Kong before arriving in Malaysia and that the storage difference is due to a difference between their two storage locations – one more humid (the first batch we carried) and this one more dry.]
