Diyanillakelle Early Second Flush 2022

We commissioned this batch of Indian black tea from Diyanillakelle Estate in Lindula, Sri Lanka, with production directed by Mr. Nalin Modha, who selected the leaves from China seed varietal bushes at 4500ft and supervised the production process in late January 2022, with special attention to the withering, rolling and drying processes to get an optimal result from this terroir. While this is among the best material from the estate’s early 2022 flushes, and so could be called First flush, we asked for a processing more in the style of a Second flush, with slightly fuller oxidation and a richer character.
